How a job runs in PISTON
Aroha's Hilux, from the booking to the reminder that brings it back. Everyone in the workshop works from the same job.
-
1
The booking
Aroha rings about a squeal from her brakes, or fills in the form on your website. Type her rego and PISTON fills in the car from CarJam, down to the VIN, the odometer and the WoF date, with its history if it has been in before.
-
2
The estimate
Add the front brakes standard job and a brake fluid flush. Labour is priced at the rate for the work and parts at your margin. Wiper blades and rear tyres go on as recommended work.
-
3
Approval by link
Aroha opens the estimate on her phone, ticks the wiper blades, leaves the tyres for now and accepts. The tyres stay on her car's record for next time.
-
4
On the board
The job goes on the work board for Thursday with Wiremu's name on it. The parts are ordered from the job.
-
5
On the tools
Wiremu clocks on against the brake job. On the hoist he finds a split hose, sends the extra work by link, and Aroha approves it from her desk.
-
6
The invoice
Mark the job done and the invoice is built from it. Aroha pays by card from the invoice, the payment goes to Xero, and the job closes.
-
7
Back next year
Before her WoF is due, PISTON emails Aroha a reminder, and the rear tyres are on the car's record when she books in.
Everyone works from the same job
The front counter, the technicians and the office each see what they need, on a computer, a tablet in the workshop or a phone.
The front counter
Books the car in from the rego, sends the estimate, and sees when the customer says yes.
The technicians
See the jobs on the board, clock on against them, fill in check sheets with photos, and send extra work from the hoist.
The office
Invoices from the job, takes card payments, and sees it all in Xero without typing it again.
Run your next job through it
Set your labour rates and parts margin, then take a car you know from the booking to the invoice. 14 days free, with no card to start.
